About this deal

The treble is as clear and transparent as the original Kima, but the sound is more pronounced and exciting, especially in the lower treble. Despite starting at 10 kHz, the high treble has a timid response that, in my opinion, dims the soul of the vocalists or instruments while maintaining an airy presence. Most of the time, the sound felt similar to the original Kima, where the vocals sound natural; they aren't sibilant or hot, and the instrumentation is the same. The lower treble, on the other hand, performs melodically with the entire range while being upfront. The instrumentation is clear, and the vocals are lively. Every component is properly and fairly positioned, and they all work well together. The vocals and instruments are distinct and unobtrusive. The treble area responds by appearing generally soothing and unobtrusive. As a result, the treble region sounds more forward, clear, and crisp overall. Sound ImpressionsNote: I just want to preface the sound portion of this review by informing you that I did burn the DKC in for roughly 50 hours before any critical listening was completed. I didn’t notice any benefit to doing this. I also always use flac files which are stored on my devices. For all balanced sources I did swap cables for the KBear Chord 4.4. The Kima feature Harman-influenced tuning with a light v-shaped profile. The midrange is a touch behind, but there isn’t crazy energy at the frequency extremes. It’s all very pleasant sounding, if not overtly exciting. Midrange InstrumentsFor the most part instruments come across well defined. This is a V-shaped iem and the midrange is smoother than sharp. Resolution is nice for a V-shape, but isn’t perfect, and this can cause a few minor clarity issues as far as instrumentation is concerned. For the most part though, instruments all sound organic and pretty darn clean. DUNU has equipped the latest KIMA with a brand new 10mm dual-cavity dynamic driver unit. This driver is designed with a new-generation DLC(Diamond-Like Carbon) diaphragm coil. This is a newly-developed DLC material diaphragm, which in comparison with traditional DLC diaphragms has a more uniform structure that enhances its rigidity and ensures quality sound reproduction. To maintain the air pressure buildup inside the cavity structure, The dual-cavity structure on the KIMA adopts micro-controller air-flow control technology. For this, DUNU has featured a microcontroller air-flow device between the vents on the front and rear cavity structures.

Based on my initial testing of the previous products of Dunu, It seems that Dunu isn't keen too much on technical aspects, rather they evidently concentrate more on tonal balancing. And I expected, technical performance of DUNU KIMA will be rather average to above average. Despite the good level of fittings, none of the accompanying tips have worked well for me. Except for the S&S, the rest have a narrow core and that detracts from the clarity of the sound. The S&S tips have been a disastrous combination with my ergonomics and a total loss of bass. I really don't understand the cylindrical shape, it doesn't seem to me a very ergonomic design. Classic New Color Scheme:-While retaining the praised look of the OG Kima, the new Kima Classic has a new color scheme for its shells. The pair has a beautiful coffee grey color scheme with a golden ear nozzle. The ear shells here are crafted using high-precision melting and casting molds. They are then finished with a specially selected sandblasting process giving them a nicely textured finish!! Regarding its sound profile, Dunu Kima takes a more mild-U shaped sound signature that it sounds so balanced and almost neutral to listen with. It has just minor colouration in the overall sound spectrum.Kima capsules are kidney-shaped, but stubbier and rounder. They are made of high-density zinc alloy and their mouthpieces are made of gold-plated brass. The outer face has four separate planes: one on one side and three horizontal. These faces are almost trapezoidal in shape. Each gap is a linear edge. On one of these horizontal edges, the left capsule reads 'Criz Faction' and the right 'Kima', in a whitish, almost grey lettering. On the upper edge is the 2Pin connection, embedded in a transparent plastic plate, fully integrated into the body of the capsules. The inner side has two more or less flat levels. On the first level, the base, shaped like a semi-spiral, has a hole protected by a whitish cloth. And the topos indicating the channel: the letters R and L inside a circle, in this almost illegible colour. The second level, the skirt of the nozzle, is almost circular and more projecting. The step between the two levels is abrupt and distinguishable. On the edge you can read "DUNU 10mm DLC DYNAMIC". A little higher up there is another hole, also protected by the white mesh. Finally, there is the gold-plated brass mouthpiece. It has 3 levels, a very narrow base, a more elongated central band of 5.4mm and the tapering crown, with a diameter of 6.2mm. The total length of the mouthpiece is approximately 4.3mm. It is protected by a perforated metal grid, but it seems to have another coating underneath, some kind of thin film. At least, that's my impression. It is possible to be quite good without being particularly special. If that’s a win or a loss is a matter of perspective. The Dunu Kima Classic comes across like a warm/neutral and more fun Dunu Kima OG. You’ll notice there’s an extra bass bump, as well as some added emphasis in the upper-mids through the treble which creates a more energetic Kima. A little more V-shaped in sound signature from the original. A little more on the fun side compared to the OG. The Classic is slightly V-shaped to a Harman type sound, yet one thing I’m not hearing is an obvious dip or recess in the midrange that would be considered a large detriment as with most V-shaped sets. The DKC is pretty nicely resolving considering the tuning. The issue with the T4 Plus lies in the technical department. The staging is wider than the Kima but not as deep. They sound less refined in the mids, and the more present treble is offset by poorer imaging and slightly worse dynamics. I think the Dunu Kima showcase a better execution of the “warm, inoffensive” tuning than the T4 Plus. Technicalities-wise, they both have similar imaging, separation and coherency performance but T2 DLC has a bit wider sound/speaker stage. As for detail retrieval, T2 DLC has edgier and sharper definition compared to a more balanced Kima.

Scene-wise, there's a more congested sound in the T4 Plus, narrower too. The Kima's oval-like soundstage is wider and details seem more discernible, due to its larger, more expansive soundstage. The resolution of the T4 Plus is tighter and more compacted, preventing details from flowing more naturally and expressively. They tend to be crowded, although it is true that they are there, but more overlapping and sometimes superimposed. For these reasons, the image is more coherent, visible and discernible in the Kima. The treble part of KIMA is rather conservative on how it was tuned. It is so balanced and tonally organic that it manages to give an equilibrium tuning neither dark or too bright sounding. Certainly that there are some perceptible emphasis on the upper-mids to presence region to give a sense of detail and sparkle on notes but the good thing was that I don't hear any hint of harshness nor overpowering sibilance. The depiction of vocals and instruments remains clear regardless of musical choice, likely due to the controlled lower frequencies failing to bleed upwards significantly. The upper midrange captures just enough energy to keep the music sounding interesting, and the intimate soundstage engages the listener. This type of bass will be satisfying enough for a listener who wants a less colouration on their listening but bassheads who wants a boomy bass might look somewhere else.

The Dunu Kima has the ability to follow bass lines easily, without dulling or muddying the sound. Their competence in this respect allows them to recreate parallel layers and achieve a good layering, without intruding on the rest of the bandwidth. In this way, a remarkable level of detail and resolution is achieved in the lower range, without any loss in the midrange. Vivid, Lively Sound Profile:-The primary difference between the Kima and the Kima Classic is the new tuning profile for the pair. The OG Kima had a balanced sound output with a hint of warmth, the new Kima Classic has an increased presence for the lower-end and high-frequency regions bringing in a more vivid sound signature that complements Pop music well!! If you’d like to delve into more single-DD madness, here’s my round-up impressions of a number of budget in-ears featuring the 7Hz Salnotes Zero, Kiwi Ears Cadenza, Tin HiFi C2, and Tin HiFi C3. It’s totally fine and suitable for a pair of IEMs in this price range, but nothing outstanding. The cable is well constructed. Design Difference Between Kima & Kima ClassicWhy make a Classic Version? During the process of research and development on the Kima, with some personalized modifications, the sound becomes more suitable for pop music. In terms of sound aesthetics, The sound of the Kima Classic will have a new, fresh flavor. The main difference between the Kima and Kima Classic is the more pronounced lower end and enhanced high-frequency region as well. But the overall changes are throughout the frequency band, it has a cleaner and transparent signature as the OG Kima.DunuDunu has been around for quite some time and started their audio journey producing OEM/ODM produced products for both telecommunications as well as audio companies. They have actually been developing earphones and other audio products since 1994. However, it wasn’t until 2006 that the brand name “Dunu” first made an entry into the scene. They began creating driver materials and diaphragm materials which ultimately led to many Dunu created patents. Ever since then, Dunu has been steadily producing highly competitive audio products that I’m sure most of the readers are very well aware of. Dunu has a way of creating products which scream “premium” in every way and sound the part too.

DUNU KIMA กัน ด้วยค่า impedance ขนาด 32 Ohm และ ความไวเสียง Sensitivity 108 dB และรองรับค่าความถี่ตั้งเเต่ 5 Hz - 40 kHz Dunu was nice enough to provide a good selection of tips and all of them are very good quality. Each tip type will add a unique spin and subtle changes to the tuning. They added nine pairs of tips in total, or three sets of three (S, M, L). The IEM shells are constructed from zinc alloy and are silver matte-finished. The seam separating the faceplate from the body is flush and smooth. The four beveled edges on the faceplate do a good job highlighting shadows and light as intended. Oi! mates, welcome to my another review article and what I have here is quite very special as this is my first product review from DUNU. I'll share some of my story and please bear with me as I elaborate my experience on this audio company. The DUNU company was founded in 2006 as an independent audio company and it already has an extensive experience in audio engineering and also designing and manufacturing some audio equipment like earphones for other audio companies and also telecommunication companies as their roots also happened to be an OEM/ODM company. I wouldn’t call the sound thin though. The DKC gathers some more warmth from the low-end effectively giving a fuller sound. However, the Galileo comes across cleaner and more resolute. For female vocals and the upper midrange, the DKC sounds more forward by a touch. The Galileo has a smoother presentation in this range whereas the DKC offers a bit more in the way of shimmer and liveliness due to the boost in pinna gain. The Galileo is generally set closer to the ear with a less pronounced low-end which does well to draw out some of the finer details in the midrange. As far as vocals are concerned, I like the Galileo better. Vocals on the Galileo come across smoother and more up front with nice presence in the mix. Mobile solutionsIt was when I began using more powerful sources that I really started to see what the DKC was made of. Even something as mildly powerful as the Fiio UTWS5 was able to really bring upon great mobile sound quality. The embedded AK4332 dac issues a slight warmth and a beefed-up bass region and the DKC followed suit while also coming across pretty clean. Certainly, one of the best true wireless options on the market. Using the IFi Go Blu with its warmer and more lush Cirrus Logic CS43131 dac chip I found the DKC gained a bit more in note weight and vibrance, and macro-dynamics came alive. Especially on 4.4 balanced. Dunu S&SLastly are my favorite tips in the bunch, the Dunu S&S eartips. For whatever reason the only size which fits my ears are the large size, but I love what these tips can do for the sound. There is a definite openness occurring with a perceivably wider stage and these tips add some punch to the treble region for me. The S&S tips honestly upgrade almost every area of the mix with a nice lift to the midrange which just so happens to be what the DKC could use. The bass tightens to a small degree and the stage opens up with added air to the sound. Dunu ha
