About this deal

This collectible model makes a super treat for yourself or a gift for other adult Jurassic Park fans and experienced dinosaur-loving LEGO builders. It comes with step-by-step instructions, so you can relax and enjoy your nostalgic creative journey. While they could have perhaps benefitted from following the wider Speed Championswheelbase to allow for a better-proportioned final build (which you’ll notice from front-on viewing), everything otherwise in shaping, colour and all-round design perfectly recreates this iconic vehicle, one time in complete, upright form, and a second time upside down and crushed into the mud by the T. rex. This is one of the best-designed LEGO instruction manuals yet, and I really love the lush greenery and Jurassic Park logo plastered out on the front.

It has right details, such as the number 4 on it, and with the right spare parts, you should be able to turn this into a proper Ford Explorer if you’d like. Designer insight: According to Atticus, two of the biggest challenges were designing a foot that would let it stand on its own and not have to be supported by anything else, and also trying to capture the shape of the T-Rex head as best you could at that scale.Alan Grant, has his red scarf, tan hat, and very wet clothes, which are slightly dishevelled which is a really nice touch by the graphic designer Casper Glahder. They both carry flares to distract the T.Rex. The warning and hazard signs – love that they use a minifigure hand for the 10,000 volts high voltage sign. Four characters are included in 76956 T. rex Breakout and they are each exclusive to the set, and lovingly designed to reflect the sheer chaos of the scene they are involved in. Lex and Tim Murphy are suitably terrified and covered in mud, while Dr. Alan Grant and Dr. Ian Malcolm are both drenched through from the rain. Here’s a comparison with a LEGO T.Rex, and you can see that the designers definitely wanted to keep within the same scale, which makes sense.

Our light kit features 18 individual LEDs. Including a pair of our Rotating Bit Lights and a pair of Flashing White Bit Lights, all action components to sound the alarm and take your LEGO display to the next cinematic level. I’m extremely biased here, because I love dinosaurs, Jurassic Park, and have bought nearly every LEGO set with a dinosaur in it, so this to me, is a perfect set. For me, the highlight of the set has been a long-time coming. LEGO Jurassic Park/World fans have for years been clamouring for the iconic Jurassic Park Ford Explorers, and we FINALLY get them in minifigure-scale, and they do not disappoint in the slightest!

Rating

Despite being a display model, it’s really quite playable, and because the diorama is so large, you’re encouraged to set the scene up as you like, and there are tons of fantastic angles that you can appreciate. Basing 76956 T. rex Breakout on one of the most iconic moments of not only the Jurassic Park and Jurassic World franchise but also of modern cinema is a daunting challenge for the LEGO Group to take on. Real Value [4]– The set is moderately priced, but delivers so much satisfaction and I think is great value If you’re a fan of LEGO Dinosaurs, or Jurassic Park this set is an absolute dream, so let’s jump into this early review of 76956 T.Rex Breakout! The T. rex doesn’t completely shatter the illusion either, and from certain points of view can work with the rest of the elements of the model to make 76956 T. rex Breakout a success –particularly at this relatively low price. The T. rex’s shortcomings aren’t enough to put anyone off buying this set and they won’t be enough to detract from what is a fun and exciting LEGO set to put together and one that feels like it has been a long time coming.
